Lake Arrowhead Medical Services

Mountains Community Hospital is the “Heart of Mountain Healthcare.” MCH is located near the near the Arrowhead marina with access from Highway 173. It’s most critical service is a fully staffed 24-hour emergency department. MCH also provides in inpatient acute care services, long term nursing care as well as outpatient diagnostic laboratory, respiratory and radiology testing. 

Paramedic units operated by the fire departments cover the entire community which together with the hospital and its air ambulance heliport, transport to the specialized centers facilities of the Loma Linda and St. Bernadine’s medical centers when necessary.

There are a number of independent full time physicians in the community specializing in Family Practice, Preventive Medicine, Pediatrics and Internal Medicine. There are also  two MCH Rural Health Clinics providing primary care for Medi-Cal patients. One is located in Running Springs. A number of independent specialty physicians also have regular clinic hours. These include Orthopedic Surgery, Gynecology, ENT, General Surgery and Podiatry. The MCH Telemedicine Clinic also provides access to a larger number of specialists. Most all these providers are located in the medical office building adjacent to MCH.

A  broad range of other healthcare providers serve the community including dentists, chiropractors, physical therapists,  message therapists, psychologists, pharmacies and natural health practitioner.
