Join us for one of these local Signature Events held in the Lake Arrowhead area:
This eagerly anticipated event will showcase more than a dozen local purveyors of fine foods. Local chefs will feature their best fare to a throng of guests as they compete for Critic’s Choice Award, the Best of Taste and the Most Creative Display.
The Taste of Lake Arrowhead begins with champagne in the Lake Arrowhead Resort & Spa lobby, after which guests will stroll between the Ballroom and the Lakeview Terrace Room, where they will meet the geniuses behind the fabulous fare—the chefs—many of whom have spent decades studying and honing their extraordinary culinary skills and creations.
It is our hope that, Lake Arrowhead Classical Ballet’s annual production of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker, in some magical way, has helped to fulfill the dreams of countless young dancers while forging a memorable bond with our mountain community friends and supporters. Through the years we have witnessed a wonderful sense of pride and ownership from the community demonstrated by the eagerness of neighbors and family to volunteer assistance and to promote not only this holiday favorite but all of our outreach and learning endeavors.
The Rotary Club of Lake Arrowhead is hosts its annual PolaRotary Bear Plunge at the Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa Beach. Styled after fundraising walk-a-thons, volunteers dive into the freezing cold waters of Lake Arrowhead to raise money for the Lake Arrowhead Rotary Foundation AND their favorite charitable organization. Previous years have raised $25,000 for charity! Those who jump can choose to split the money they collect between the Rotary Foundation and another charity of their choice.
THE BIGGEST AND BEST LAKE ARROWHEAD ANTIQUE & CLASSIC WOODEN BOAT SHOW
The 2014 Annual Antique & Classic Wooden Boat Show will take place Saturday, June 7th & Sunday, June 8th at the Lake Arrowhead Village
Antique boats will vie for trophies and can be viewed up close at the Lake Arrowhead Village docks. On display throughout the village will be vintage woodie cars, hot rods, antique wooden boat models and early outboard motors. Antique boats will also be for sale throughout the village.
2014 Featured Boat
The feature boat of this year’s show will be Empress, a 1938 Gar Wood 22-foot model 915 Streamliner. Only 9 of these rare beauties were ever built. The Streamliner was intended to revolutionize the runabout market with the practicality of three cockpits forward, with seating for eleven persons in a 22-foot boat. The rear engine and V-drive configuration was very unusual in the 1930s.
The show is produced by the Rim of the World Historical Society with the assistance of the Antique & Classic Boat Society, the Arrowhead Lake Association, the Lake Arrowhead Village, the Up The Hill Woodie Club, Street Rods Forever and the Trompers.
