Job Description
A process is underway to select the next Executive Director of the Lake Arrowhead Communities Chamber of Commerce.
The successful next Executive Director of the Lake Arrowhead Communities Chamber of Commerce will be a proven, results-oriented leader who motivates and coordinates the chamber’s volunteer leaders and staff in championing local business interests, growing the mountain economy and identifying new program opportunities that address issues of importance in Lake Arrowhead and the surrounding communities.
The next Executive Director…
Establishes and fosters relationships that allow the chamber to convene business, government and community leaders in working through issues that impact the local economy.
Bridges between “big picture” perspectives and the chamber’s everyday efforts by identifying and initiating courses of action that meet the changing economic, demographic and cultural requirements.
Works with the board of directors to set the strategic direction for the Chamber and developing courses of action.
Serves as a face of the chamber and the mountain business community by engaging in frequent activities that require media savvy, political acumen, and business development opportunities.
Takes an entrepreneurial approach to providing member value and pursuing the chamber’s mission.
Produces measurable results through both short-term initiatives and consistently working to achieve long-range goals.
Leads the chamber’s fundraising through large, multi-year public-private partnerships.

Candidates for this position will be evaluated by a search committee consisting of the chairperson of the board and a small group of chamber members. Desired Skills & Experience
EXPERIENCE
5 or more years of senior leadership experience with a demonstrated track-record of producing results.
A firm grasp of core business competencies including marketing, human resources, facilities management, and stewarding a budget to ensure the long-term viability of the organization while making payroll.
A history of successful engagement, partnering and alliance-building among a broad range of constituencies.
Experience in working with volunteer boards and managing volunteer-driven initiatives.
Substantial fundraising experience.
EDUCATION
Bachelors and advanced degrees are preferred but not required. The successful candidate will demonstrate a consistent track-record for producing results in the areas necessary to lead a world-class membership organization.

LAKE ARROWHEAD FACTS
Lake Arrowhead Lake is a 784 acre private man made reservoir with just over 14 miles of shoreline and is located at 5,106 feet above sea level.
Lake Arrowhead lake has an average depth of 100 feet and the deepest point reaching 185 feet. The lake was originally built to provide water to the abundant citrus groves of the Redlands and Riverside areas.
Lake Arrowhead's "blue tower" that stands majestically in the middle of the lake near the Lake Arrowhead Marina rises 195 feet high and was originally designed to convey water at locations in both San Bernardino and Riverside counties.
Lake Arrowhead's average winter temperature is 48.13 degrees Fahrenheit with the average summer temperature reaching 78.27 degrees Fahrenheit.
Lake Arrowhead was originally known as "Little Bear Lake" and its first settlers were involved in the logging industry in order to provide lumber for settlers not living in the mountains. The Little Bear Lake post office opened in 1917.
Lake Arrowhead once boasted a narrow gauge steam railroad that ran along Highway 18.
Lake Arrowhead Village originally opened on June 24, 1922 and was replaced by the current shopping complex in 1979-1980. The resort was originally the Lake Arrowhead Hilton.
Lake Arrowhead's Yacht Club dates back to the early 1930's and currently has up to 400 members and is equipped with a fleet of about 40 sailboats.
Lake Arrowhead is surrounded by the San Bernardino National Forest. On February 25, 1893 President Benjamin Harrison created the San Bernardino Forest Preserve, spanning about 700,000 acres.
Lake Arrowhead and the San Bernardino Mountains are known as "The World's Biggest Back Lot" because of the number of movies that have been filmed in the region including Magnificent Obsession, The American President, Heidi, The Yearling, Space Jam and Disney’s remake of Parent Trap.

Established in 1925, the Lake Arrowhead Communities Chamber of Commerce is a 501(c) 6 that serves member businesses with a mission of championing opportunities for members and implementing a comprehensive strategy for promoting regional economic growth on the mountain. The chamber’s Executive Director reports to the chamber’s executive committee, led by the chairperson of the board.
